Overview
Rave Scientific offers the EM-Tec CV1 large centering vise SEM sample holder. This holder provides a unique advantage. It keeps the sample always clamped in the center of the holder. Both vise clamp jaws simultaneously move away or to the center of the holder at the same time.
The EM-Tec CV1 large centering vise clamp includes two base plates on which the vise jaws can be re-positioned for optimum sample compatibility. The brass dual vise spindle is located underneath the base plates with knurled handles at both ends. The spindle can be operated from either side. One side includes a removable spindle extension to provide better grip when opening the centering vise. Made from vacuum grade aluminum and brass to provide dry lubrication. The vise jaws are mounted on the base with brass mounting screws.
Features of the EM-Tec CV1 large centering vise SEM sample holder are:
- Provides firm grip for large and heavy samples
- Automatically holds the sample in the center of the SEM stage.
- Easier navigation from the center of the SEM
- Position able vise jaws on the base plate for optimum sample compatibility.
- Standard stage clamps from 0 to 110mm

- Optional vise jaw with single 120° groove for round sample
The EM-Tec CV1 entering vise is a heavy duty sample holder intended for use on SEMs with large chambers and stages with a stage travel distances of 80mm or more. With a spindle travel of 42mm and position able vise jaws the standard clamping ranges are 0-42mm, 34-78mm and 68-110mm. With the optional extension plate the additional clamping range are 102-144mm and 113-155mm.

EM-Tec CVC1 standard triple grooved/smooth vise jaws include one side with triple shallow 90° grooves to improve clamping of smaller and/or round samples. The vise jaw can be mounted with the smooth side to avoid markings on the samples. The vise jaws can be mounted op top of each other to increase the double the height of the vise jaws to 24mm. The EM-Tec conductive soft jaw lining kit for vise type SEM sample holders comprises a conductive neoprene rubber sheet with a conductive adhesive layer on one side. It is intended to hold more delicate samples and to prevent marring or damaging sensitive surfaces. The conductive medium soft rubber provides both a soft grip and a grounding path.
