Overview

Rave Scientific offers the EM-Tec silicon apertures which provide precise square or rectangular aperture windows which can be used for a variety of applications:

  • Optical apertures
  • Deposition apertures
  • Support frame for thin films, fibers and thin foils
  • Support frame for TEM lamellae in the FIB

The aperture frames with their unique hexagonal shaped silicon frame 
has been developed to facilitate easy pickup and handling.

 

The aperture frames are made from silicon with a thickness of 200µm. Backside of the frame (larger opening) has a coating of 50nm silicon nitride. The unique hexagonal shaped silicon frame has been developed to facilitate easy handling. The parallel sides together with the micro-structured TrueGrip edges enable easy pickup and handling of the aperture frames.   The reference mark on one of the sides provide orientation. The unique hexagonal frames have a side length of 1.52mm                                                                             and are fully compatible with the standard 3mm TEM grid.Packaged per 10 silicon apertures in the EM-Tec #28-000100 TEM grid box.
