The nEXT 85 pumps consist of the turbo molecular pump with a permanently attached controller containing drive electronics and comes configured with two different variants, the "D" and "H". The "D" variant incorporates both turbo molecular and drag stages for improved tolerance to higher backing line pressures. The High Compression -"H" variant employs the same technology as the 'D' variant, but is tuned to deliver higher compression. The controller controls the electrical supply to the pump with the exception of standby speed control. It has no manual controls and can only be operated through the logic interface. To operate the nEXT-85 pump you must connect it to your own control equipment and power supply or alternatively use the Edwards TIC Turbo Instrument Controller or TIC Turbo Controller. nEXT 85 pumps are supplied with an inlet-screen fitted into the centering O-ring for ISO version pumps and into envelope for CF version pumps. nEXT85 pumps with an NW 25 interstage-port are supplied with an inlet-strainer that fits into the interstage-port. The inlet-screen and inlet-strainer protect the pump against damage that would be caused by debris entering the pump. The nEXT 85 pumps have a vent-port for venting the pump and vacuum system to atmospheric pressure. The pump is supplied with a manual vent-valve fitted; this can be replaced with a TAV5 or TAV6 solenoid-operated vent-valve.

The Edwards nEXT240D and nEXT240T turbo molecular pumps consist of a turbo molecular pump with a permanently attached controller containing drive electronics. The controller controls the electrical supply to the pump with the exception of standby speed control. The Edwards nEXT 240 is a hybrid bearing compound turbo molecular pump. They feature 24 V to 48 V d.c. sensor less motors with a built-in drive that is fully compatible with Edwards range of TAG and TIC controllers. They are available preset for either 80 W or 160 W maximum power, the former enabling use with our 100 W TIC controllers are also recommended for pumping Argon, but with a longer ramp time to full operating speed. The duplex “D” variants have both turbo molecular and drag stages for improved tolerance to higher backing line pressures. The triplex “T” variants feature turbo molecular, drag and Edwards unique fluid dynamic stages for the ultimate in compression ratio and boost technology for maximum vacuum system rationalization. A basic pump system would require a Edwards nEXT240D pump, a TAG or TIC controller, either an air or water cooling accessory and a suitable backing roughing pump. The “Accessories” for the nEXT 240 are listed below

The Edwards nEXT300D and nEXT300T turbo molecular pumps consist of a turbo molecular pump with a permanently attached controller containing drive electronics. The controller controls the electrical supply to the pump with the exception of standby speed control. It has no manual controls and can only be operated through the logic interface. To operate the nEXT 300 pump you must connect it to your own control equipment and power supply or alternatively use the Edwards TIC Turbo Instrument Controller or TIC Turbo Controller. The 'D' or 'Duplex' variant has turbo molecular blades and a drag mechanism that allows operation at higher backing pressures than the pure turbo molecular pumps. The 'T' or 'Triplex' variant has turbo molecular blades, a drag mechanism and a regenerative mechanism. The regenerative stage gives the option to utilize 'boost' mode The New Edwards nEXT300 pumps are supplied with an inlet-screen fitted into the centering O-ring for ISO version pumps and into envelope for CF version pumps. nEXT300D pumps with an NW 25 interstage-port are supplied with an inlet-strainer that fits into the interstage-port. The inlet-screen and inlet-strainer protect the pump against damage that would be caused by debris entering the pump. Not included with refurbished pump. The Edwards Turbo pump is supplied with a manual vent-vavle fitted; this can be replaced with a TAV5 or TAV6 solenoid-operated vent-valve. The TAV valve can be directly controlled by the on-board controller. The nEXT pumps have a purge-port: an inert purge gas can be introduced to protect the bearing and motor from corrosion. An optional vent-port adapter and purge restrictor can be fitted to the purge-port to control the flow rate of the purge gas and to filter the gas supply. Air cooling and a water-cooling block are available.

Edwards has extended the range of their market leading nEXT platform with two new larger pumps offering speeds significantly over 700 l/s and 900 l/s for nitrogen turbo molecular pumps. The nEXT 730 Turbo Pump delivers pumping speeds of over 700 liters per second. As well as addressing the general R&D market, where faster pumping speeds are sometimes required, these pumps are also designed to meet the requirements of the coating market and other diffuse market sectors such as Heat treatment, Furnace applications, E-beam welding, Etch, Ion implant, Degassing and Cylinder evacuation. The pumps feature bearings with a typical life time of at least 4 years with no maintenance, which can then be replaced simply and economically by the customer themselves when required or customers may choose from our other service support offerings. The pumps are able to operate in any orientation, and are supported by a full range of accessories for accessories for cooling, venting, powering and control. nEXT 730/930 Brochure
